The Chair of Economic Policy visits Financial Geography Winter School

In February 2025 our research associate Narek Mirzoyan participated in the third Financial Geography Winter School (24-25 February 2025) and Conference (26-28 February 2025) at the National University of Singapore. Both events will focus on the geopolitics and geoeconomics of finance. The unique combination of winter school and conference will promote interdisciplinary dialogue on these topics between scholars from different parts of the world as well as exchange between junior and senior scholars.  Future research initiatives and international connections are thus facilitated.

During the Winter School, participants were assigned to one of six panel discussions based on their profile, in which they each gave a presentation on their assigned topic, followed by an open discussion. At the subsequent conference, each participant presented their preliminary research paper and received helpful feedback to improve their work. Narek's participation in the events was made possible by a travel grant from the Singapore Journal of Tropic Geography and financial support from the graduate school CuKnow.
