Profile
Noah Oerther has been working at the Chair of Economic Policy since May 2026. Prior to that, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a master’s degree in Digital Economics from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). In addition to his studies, he gained international insights during a semester abroad from August to December 2024 at the Hanken School of Economics in Vaasa, Finland, where he focused in particular on global perspectives of digital economic models.
From 2023 to 2026, Noah actively supported the team at the Chair of Economic Policy as a research assistant in the areas of research, teaching, and IT infrastructure administration.
Noah Oerther’s research focuses on European defense policy, the efficient distribution of burdens and benefits within NATO, and the processing and integration of structured and unstructured data.

Analysis of the distribution of burdens and benefits within NATO, with a focus on European NATO members. The study employs new approaches to burden-sharing to identify patterns and trends from 1993 to 2022. |
